CSS

Updated April 2023

I worked as a Child Care Specialist, Pre-school Teacher, and Infant Care Teacher for many years, and loved it. I’m still doing it, here in this new century, for three young ones named Tommy, Gemma, and Jaxson.

In 2003 I began to teach myself HTML and CSS. I wanted to be able to build my own custom websites. This was a time when browser support was uneven to say the least. HTML was simple enough, but CSS had a steep learning curve.

In basic terms, CSS is the language web designers use to control the presentation of text, images, and other elements on a web page. Web browsers have advanced significantly since 2003, and advanced control is now possible without tedious work-arounds.

Below are links to a few CSS experiments. They are demos only, and dated. Most of the designs were re-worked versions, or inspired by, the work of CSS wizards like Eric Meyers Stu Nicholls Scott Zeldman and others.
